Development Strategist

About the Position

Deployment Strategists at Dharma work with our clients to understand their data needs and help them assess how the Dharma Platform can help them achieve maximum impact. As the contact for prospective and current users, you’ll work with them to identify their data bottlenecks and challenges and assist them as they implement Dharma into their tech ecosystem.

You’ll also serve as a crucial liaison between the Product and Sales Teams and the user, providing both specific requirements for individual clients and usage information that will inform future features and versions of the product. A strong sense of empathy is a must, along with a strong background in data science, a passion for working with others, and the ability to take complex concepts and make them easy to understand by anyone.

Responsibilities

Technical Advising

  • In-depth assessments of client data needs, including field-level requirements gathering
  • Providing client with data and technology solutions, both in the field and elsewhere
  • Providing summary recommendations for Dharma ‘best fit’ within the client organization
  • Determining the best course of action for Dharma product use, as well as serving as technical referent for pre- and post-sale client discussions
  • Working with Dharma product and sales teams to provide insight on per-client integrations, customizations, pricing, and implementation as needed
  • Providing current and potential clients with regular updates on product progress and asks, technology capabilities, and product potential

Product Development

  • Collecting feedback from existing users and conveying information to the Development and Sales teams for refinement of the product

External Visibility & Client Relations

  • Building Dharma’s visibility in the public and private sector by presenting at conferences, lecturing, exhibiting our product at events, and networking
  • Vet potential strategic partnerships and technical integrations that will position Dharma for long term growth

Key Skills

  • Ability to balance the demands of multiple clients concurrently
  • Ability to convey complex data science concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Proficiency in MySQL or similar relational database software
  • Extensive Microsoft Excel and Access knowledge and skills
  • Proficiency in STATA or R
  • Ability to craft complex visualizations of data and system architecture
  • Familiarity with the creation of operational data models (program data ecosystem mapping and interpretation)

Experience

  • 3-5 years experience in an analytics-intensive position: data scientist, statistician, economist, or comparable
  • 3-5 years experience with data and/or enterprise software implementation in the field
  • Benchmarking of technology and systems, data management and architecture, program implementation, and cycle analysis
  • Experience performing data management exercises inside of large organizations (bonus points for international, public-sector entities)
  • Prior experience with complex data set merging, cleaning, and aggregation

Account Manager

In coordination with the Sales and Strategy teams, the Account Manager (AM) will be responsible for driving sales of Dharma products. The AM will oversee aspects of the sales process, including lead management, qualification, evaluation, and client support and will play an integral role in the success of the sales team. This is a quota-carrying sales position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and assess sales pipeline and move a large number of transactions through simultaneously
  • Manage and track customer and transactional information in a CRM system
  • Coordinate resources throughout the sales cycle, including product support and sales engineering
  • Provide product demonstrations and general support to prospective clients
  • Nurture and expand the company’s relationship with customer accounts of all sizes
  • Hold responsibility for organization, management, and updating of our in-house CRM
  • Provide regular (quarterly) market analyses
  • Perform weekly analysis of potential competition, competitive issues, and products
  • Practice effective, excellent communication with management, customers, and support staff
  • Participate in team-building and company growth through strategy setting, sales training, marketing efforts, and customer care
  • Travel to customer locations in support of sales efforts

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of enterprise software sales experience. Minimum of 5+ years of experience selling SaaS
  • Track record of successful t sales quotas as a salesperson and preferably as a manager
  • Previous training and experience with business intelligence, analytics, data warehousing, predictive modeling, or similar technologies
  • Ability to drive a deal from lead to close
  • Understanding of best practices in client-facing interactions
  • Complex sales to federal agencies (seven figure deal experience a plus)
  • Previous experience in sales or account management at an enterprise level Saas company a plus
  • Highly driven individual with a focus on execution, a strong sense of urgency, and a belief in Dharma’s mission

Sales Development Representative

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with prospective clients and educate them on Dharma’s services via phone, social media, and email
  • Effectively articulate Dharma’s features and benefits to influential decision makers
  • Follow up on marketing leads and share any news releases, videos, and information with prospective clients
  • Identify opportunities and develop leads for our sales team
  • Field inbound communication and act as an effective ambassador for Dharma
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of all prospecting activity
  • Maintain a cohesive team strategy with sales representatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Must be goal-oriented and able to exceed daily/monthly objectives
  • Love of technology and working closely with customers
  • B2B telesales experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated sales aptitude; assertive, persistent, a good listener, and self-motivated
  • Excellent oral and written communication / customer relations skills
  • Well organized with highly effective time management skills
